Coming the summer of 2021!
Elizabeth’s Enlightening Day at the Zoo
Elizabeth is a middle-school-age student who loves all science. Elizabeth and her friend Zahra go to the zoo with their moms. Zahra’s mom is designing a new line of nail polish based on colours of animals and insects at the zoo. While there, Elizabeth and Zahra see many different applications of light.
Here is a sneak peek at some of the preliminary illustrations!
This is Alex, one of the zoo attendants. Alex is a member of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
This illustration is a nod to Canada’s First Nations. In this illustration, the First Nations vet is applying light therapy to Gretta the Giraffe’s foot. This is one of my favourite illustrations in the book.
Betty is a lifelong learner and science student. Her profession as an educational science editor sparked an interest in writing science-curriculum–related books for children. Elizabeth’s Enlightening Day at the Zoo is the second in her Elizabeth series.
